A roulette selection defines which wheel outcomes are covered. A blackjack action changes how a hand proceeds. The two decisions may appear in table-game menus, but their mechanics are different.

Play’n GO’s European Roulette Pro rule description uses 37 pockets: numbers 1–36 plus green zero. A straight-up selection covers one pocket; split, street, corner and line selections cover different groups. Outside choices such as red/black or odd/even cover larger sets.
Zero is separate from red/black, odd/even and low/high groups. For example, a red selection does not include the green zero. Group bets cover more pockets than a single number, with different stated payouts. The wheel outcome remains independent of the previous result.
Evolution’s classic Live Blackjack describes the objective as finishing closer to 21 than the dealer without exceeding 21. Hit takes a card, Stand ends the player’s turn, Double Down increases the stake for one additional card, and Split separates an eligible pair into two hands. Insurance is optional and separate from the main hand.
Variants may change how decisions or outcomes work. Pragmatic Play Free Bet Blackjack, for example, has a Push on 22 rule: active bets push when the dealer busts on 22, except winning blackjack hands. This is a named version’s rule, not a universal blackjack settlement.
A roulette bet asks whether the selected pocket or group appears. A blackjack action asks how to continue a hand against the dealer’s visible card, while the variant rules determine settlement. The same table category can contain versions with materially different rules.
For a concrete comparison, a roulette selection on zero is settled by a wheel pocket, while a blackjack hand standing on 19 must still be compared with the dealer. Neither the word live nor the size of a button can replace the actual settlement rule.
No. In the cited European Roulette Pro rules, green zero sits outside red/black and other even-money groups.
It increases the stake and gives the player one additional card.
No. It is a rule in Pragmatic Play Free Bet Blackjack, with winning blackjack hands excepted.
